Location

We are located on the Frying pan River two miles past Reudi Reservoir and within an hours drive of the world-famous Glenwood Hot Springs or Aspen. If traveling from Denver, it will take you approximately 3.5 hours. Take I70 W and use Exit 116 (Aspen, Glenwood Springs) to get onto Hwy 82. Hwy 82 runs through the Roaring Fork Valley and is the main road to Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen. Basalt is 20 miles from Glenwood Springs and is a left turn off Hwy 82. Aspen is 40 miles from Glenwood Springs. All turnoffs to Basalt lead to the main street called Midland Avenue. Proceeding along Midland Avenue you will see “Alpine Bank” on the right-hand side. It used to be the old train station when the railway line ran up the Frying Pan Road. Stay on Midland Avenue as this actually becomes the Frying Pan Road.

Note: there is no gasoline or major grocery store after this point. There is a small family owned convenience, souvenir and liquor store in Meredith. At the start of the Frying Pan Road is a tiny Barber's shop on your left. You will notice mile marker signs on the right side – you will travel up the Frying Pan River Road about 24 miles, enjoy the scenic drive.  If you get to mile marker 25 you’ve gone too far. We are the only property over the river – you’ll go past the Fire Department, Howdy church in Thomasville and then about three driveways on the left you’ll see our sign Yolande Placer Cabins. The trip from Basalt is about 45 minutes.
